DNA Day is a holiday celebrated worldwide on 25th of April. It commemorates the day in 1953 when James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin and colleagues published papers in the journal Nature on the structure of DNA and the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. Since 2008, in Nepal, we have celebrated World DNA Day in our own way to esteem the remarkable achievements made in the history of biological sciences. World DNA Day 2018 is going to be held on 24th and 25th of April 2018. Biotechnology Society of Nepal (BSN) is hosting the World DNA Day 2018 at Kausaltar, Shanti Marg – Bhaktapur.
The objective of the program, World DNA Day 2018, is to discuss the scientific achievements made outside and inside of our country Nepal.
People who are interested or related in the science field are requested to attend the program. Local Nepalese citizens like parents who are concerned about their children’s future, policy maker, government stakeholders, and industrialist are also greeted.
To make the conference more exciting and to update people about the recent trends in the technology of biological sciences, four sessions are going to be held.
- Medical and Pharmaceutical Bio-sciences
- Plant and Agriculture Bio-sciences
- Food and Industries Bio-sciences
- Environment and Biodiversity Bio-sciences
Stalls for the program will be held by all the science related colleges, universities, academic institutions, companies, and research organization. A panel discussion will be held to let people know about the importance and impact of technology in biological sciences for the federal democratic republic of Nepal.
Essay, art, DNA model, quiz, and other competitions will be held to make the program, World DNA Day 2018 more fun and thrilling.
