The Nepal Mobile Distributor Association is gearing up to organize NMDA Mobile Expo 2016. This mobile fair will run for 5 days, from December 29, 2016 to January 2, 2017 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu.
This fair will bring different importers, distributors and retailers of mobile phones under a single roof. 130 stalls will showcase mobile sets from 16 companies. So, if you are tech-savvy or are on the hunt for a new mobile phone, the event is a must-attend.
Speaking at a program organized on Sunday, Raghu Tripathi, general secretary of the association, said, “In the expo, national and international service providers and manufacturers will be introducing high-tech products and services. Mobile phone company’s new products will be introduced, an interaction between service providers and customers and opportunity towards wider choices for the buyers will be the main attraction in the expo”.
He added that a team of 50 experts will advise visitors how to get the most out of their mobile sets besides providing solutions to problems that they may be having with their sets. The expo will be the first of its kind.
NMDA Mobile Expo 2016 is going to be held with coordination from different mobile brands. So, a wide range of mobile sets will be available at reasonable prices. About 60 percent of the retail stalls at the fair will be from Patan, Bhaktapur, Balaju and Chabahil, as per the organizers.
The latest mobile phone technology, food stalls and a video game zone will be added attractions at the exhibition.
According to the organizer, there are 33 mobile phone importers in the country. Likewise, an estimated 500 distributors and 4,000 retailers are engaged in the business. The industry has an annual turnover of NPR 24 billion.
The organizers expect a footfall of 250,000 and sales of NPR 150 million during the five-day expo.
