Sajha Yatayat launched night bus service in Kathmandu, starting Tuesday. Sajha Yatayat has brought forth one bus each in five routes throughout the city. According to Sajha, one of the routes has been decided to keep hospital areas in mind. The route starts from Lagankhel – Patan Hospital – Tripureshwor Eye Hospital – Bir Hospital – Maharajgunj Teaching Hospital – Bansbari Gangalal Hospital – Neuro Hospital.
The night bus service in Kathmandu starts from 8:30 pm till 11 pm. The night bus service is a much-needed facility in Kathmandu as getting anywhere without a means of private transport at night is very difficult. The taxi service in Kathmandu is very costly, even though the Government has formally indicated prices for specific distances.
Especially, night taxis seem to cost almost a small fortune as the rates are almost three times as much as daytime. The CEO of Sajha Yatayat, Mahendra Pandey, said, “As it is a night bus service in Kathmandu the bus fare is fixed to be NPR 25 regardless of where a passenger leaves or gets in. The night bus service will operate even during strikes, protests, and festivals.” The fare is very reasonable as it is a night bus service.
Additionally, the buses will have CCTV cameras installed for security reasons.
Sajha Yatayat is also all set to introduce accessible semi-low floor buses to the city. Sajha continues to bring new ways to make commuting easier within the valley.
