MIRA, a documentary on the journey of Mira Rai, a world champion trail runner has been released on YouTube on March 14 by Lloyd Belcher Visuals.
The inspirational story, filmed across Nepal, Hong Kong, Australia, Spain, Italy & France, tells the story of Mira Rai’s journey in the face of adversity to compete against the world’s best mountain runners.
The documentary carries an inspirational journey of a spirited Nepali village girl on her pursuit to become a world-recognized mountain runner. Growing up in a remote mountain village in Nepal, Mira Rai always dreamed of being successful in sports despite all the challenges that she & other Nepali girls face. After running away from home, Mira joined the Maoist army until as a young adult, she traveled the long distance to Kathmandu to try her luck. Out of money, she was about to return home to her village when by chance on a morning run, she met another runner who told her about a long running race in the local hills. Soon, she realized her tough mountain village upbringing has prepared her perfectly for this sport.
However, the documentary has been released in a low-resolution version. This documentary was made targeting the audience in Nepal and considering all the factors (piracy, Nepal’s bandwidth/connection speeds & mobile friendly), the directors of this documentary decided to go with low resolution.
But, if you are a Nepali living overseas and have a good proficiency in English, then you can easily rent the English HD version from the official website of Lloyd Belcher Visuals.
Already screen on numerous film festivals in Nepal and abroad, the inspiring documentary has won accolades from a mass of viewers.
Mira Rai came to massive fame after winning the ultimate title of National Geographic Adventurer of the Year 2017.
