World Mental Health Day Celebrated Successfully | Nepal

World Mental Health Day was organized at Yalamaya Kendra in the capital, Kathmandu on 8th of October, 2018. Mental Health Day is celebrated on the 10th of October worldwide.

With the theme of ‘Young People and Mental Health in Changing World’, World Mental Health Day concluded successfully. The programme was jointly organized by Mental Health For All, Independent Citizens Coalition, We for Health Nepal, Lumbini College of Buddhism & Himalayan Foundation, and Centre for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal (CREASION) to spread the importance of mental health to the general public.

The theme was highlighted on the participation of youths on the subject of mental health, claiming that youths are the most vulnerable population to suffer the consequences of mental health issues. Youth are the most vulnerable population to suffer the consequences of mental health issues. Most mental health problems begin during young age (12 to 24 years of age), although when ignored and youth suffer and feel isolated. Mental health issues are strongly related to our growth, career, and development issues like education, job, and family as well as physical, emotional and sexual health.

The aim of World Mental Health Day was to come together, start the conversation on mental health and figure out the different and happy ways to be mentally healthy.
