WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 Concluded Successfully

WordCamp Kathmandu 2018,  the biggest WordPress conference in Nepal was held last weekend at Karki Banquet, Babarmahal, Kathmandu. The conference was concluded successfully with over 300 WordPress enthusiasts.

WordCamps are one of the biggest events conducted annually by hundreds of WordPress entrepreneurs, developers, bloggers, and enthusiasts. WordPress lovers or anyone who has experience or is interested in handling WordPress are welcomed to participate in WordCamps.

At the event, many young WordPress lovers were present and showed their full participation spirit. The event was divided into 2 halls—Hall Action and Hall Filter. Excluding the opening, closing ceremonies and other sessions, both the halls had 8 and 7 phases respectively. Similar to other WordCamps held worldwide, WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 also had many national and international speakers who shared different experiences and thoughts regarding WordPress to the attendees.

The event was officially started with the opening remarks by Sakin Shrestha, co-founder of WordPress Nepal and was ended in a grand way by the hosts after Arjun Singh Thakuri shared his success story with the audience followed by the distribution of Token of Appreciation.

Other than the presentations and the informative speakers, there were also many stalls at the event with lots of goodies. Every stall, seen at the event was aiming to promote their companies. The event also included good food, lucky draws, and many others.

Unlike the previous WordCamps held in Kathmandu, this time, WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 was held for two days in a row, March 17 being the official WordCamp day and March 18 being the Contributor day.

The first ever Contributor day in the history of WordPress Nepal community was a great success with around 115 attendees. The registration started at 10 in the morning, followed by the introductory session and attendees were very positive about the first Contributor day. There were a total number of 5 teams divided for the Contributor day: Theme Review, Support, Documentation, Polyglots, and Community. All of the teams were led by specific WordPress experts. All the attendees were seen very much involved in their respective teams and were contributing from their side.

All in all, WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 has officially ended with a huge success. All the attendees of WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 were seen enjoying the networking opportunity in the WordPress community and were very happy to be a part of it.
