Two Nepali Transportation Apps Launched

A Nepali company named Karyalaya Ventures has launched two Nepali transportation apps recently. The first one is a dual-language public transportation app named Motorbhada, and the second one is a business-to-business (B2B) transportation app named Motorbhada Company.

The main aim of these two Nepali transportation apps is to contribute to the digitization of Nepal’s transportation system.

The first app, Motorbhada provides an easy way to commute every day. Users of this app will get information about current bus fares and routes, can search for the nearest location to take public transport, make an arrival search, live track vehicles and get live traffic updates and notifications across the country. Motorbhada is available to download on both Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Similarly, the second one, Motorbhada Company app is for public transport and transport companies, NGOs, INGOs, travel agencies, private and government organizations, schools, hospitals, offices and any group or individuals who wish to keep track of their vehicles in real time. The app comes with features such as profile, start, notifications, traffic jam, food, malfunction, accident, strike, natural disaster, road construction, medical emergency, and security to track their vehicles and stay updated all the time. The interested companies will have to register to make use of this service. For now, Motorbhada Company app is available to download on Google Play Store only.

In a press statement, the company said, “Though we are living in the digital age and talking about a smart city, the most important aspect—Nepal’s public transportation system—was missing. So, to give information about the public transportation system—from bus fares to live tracking—on their smartphones, we initiated Motorbhada.”

“We are constantly updating data in our user app MotorBhada, and as we start registering companies through our B2B app Motorbhada Company, data will be continuously added to the user app. Therefore, we request our users to keep updated with our app,” according to the company.

The founders of these two Nepali transportation apps are Mr. Prasun Timilsina and Mr. Sujit Dhaubanjar from Karyalaya Ventures. Saurav Timilsina is the promoter of these apps. Karyalaya Ventures is the information technology wing of Karyalaya IT.

With these two Nepali transportation apps, we hope to see a better digitalized transportation system in Nepal.
