Rashtriya MUN 2017 Happening on July 28-30

Rashtriya MUN 2017, a wonderful platform for students to gain knowledge on current global issues, is all set to be organized from this July 28 to 30 in Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) in Lalitpur. The event is initiated by a group of enthusiastic youths and aims to boost the fast-growing MUN (Model United Nations) culture in Nepal.

MUN is an extra-curricular activity where students role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. Rashtriya MUN 2017 is like a mini UN conference that bursts with intellectual discussions, entertainment, and glory. The event will feature 4 committees leading various agendas concerning the youths.

The Secretary General of Rashtriya MUN 2017, Bishesh Bajracharya said, “Here at Rashtriya MUN, we feel that being the citizens of Nepal, it is crucial for our youth to focus on the contemporary issues that are happening in and affecting our country and to address them in an international approach. That has been the main motto of the program. And, we are really excited for this event to happen.”

This also makes Rashtriya MUN 2017 quite different from other MUNs that mostly revolve their agendas around issues of developed countries.

Likewise, Gopal Sonthaliya, the Vice-President of Rashtriya MUN said “All set with innovation and invention, we head out to make this MUN-the most productive one. We are working to make it a remarkable MUN with intellectual discussions and conclusions towards the issues that are clouding the developing nations.”

Participants can either attend the program as delegates or represent a delegation of 10 students. There is also a provision of generous subsidies and scholarships for those who need it.
