New Road Mobile Mahotsav 2017, the First Ever Mobile Fair in New Road to Open Wednesday

Calling all the tech savvy people to New Road Mobile Mahotsav 2017, the first ever mobile festival to be held in the financial hub of the country, New Road.

Nepal Mobile Business Association (NMBA), in association with telecommunications operator company, Ncell, is organizing this week-long fair, beginning from December 28 to January 3. According to the organizer, the expo that is being organized with the slogan Jahaan Mobile Bazaar, Tyahaan Mobile Mahotsav’, is an attempt to promote sales of genuine products and encourage consumers to stay away from the gray market. Moreover, the expo also aims to spread information on new technology that is available in the market. Shoppers can find mobile phones from various brands at the fair that will be conducted along the main street and at adjoining area starting from New Road Gate.

Speaking at a press conference organized on Sunday, Purushottam Basnet, President of the association and coordinator of New Road Mobile Mahotsav 2017, said that over 200 showrooms of the authorized dealers of various mobile brands situation in various business complexes in New Road such as Tamrakar House and People’s Plaza will participate and offer visitors with sure shot prizes along with cash discounts up to 70% in their purchase.

Lava, Oppo, Obi, Nokia, Samsung, MI, ZTE, Huawei, Apple and Gionee, among others, are the major brands that will be displayed at the weeklong expo. “We will also be launching new mobile phones such as Zopo and Leagoo at the event.”

“Likewise, customers can also win a mobile phone set in a lucky draw that will be conducted daily,” Basnet added. A gaming zone, kids’ zone, and food stalls will be added features of the mobile expo.

Sandeep Man Shrestha, a spokesperson for the exhibition, said they would be conducting a mobile game competition. “Authorized distributors of the concerned brands will be providing ‘touch and feel’ offers which will help convey information about mobile phones to potential buyers,” Shrestha said.

The organizer said they would also be offering 100 megabyte data cards free to customers during the expo. Likewise, buyers will receive free sim cards from Ncell, which is the main sponsor of the exhibition.

The organizer said they expected a footfall of more than 200,000 during New Road Mobile Mahotsav 2017.
