NADA Auto Show 2018 – Highlights from the Expo

NADA Auto Show 2018, a 6 days auto show has officially started from today. This event is happening at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu starting from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M.

This Auto Show is not only a platform for buyers and sellers. In fact, it will be a genuine stage for the information exchange, market analysis, and presentation of the progress of entire automobile sector in Nepal. NADA Auto Show 2018 is organized jointly by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal and Global Exposition and Management Services.

The biggest Auto Show in Nepal “NADA Auto Show 2018” has around 135 small and big stalls and around 71 companies participated in the expo. This year, NADA Auto Show has showcase 19 brands from 4-wheeler section and 20 brands from 2-wheeler section. The auto show has stalls of lubricants, spare parts, batteries, tires, vehicle security technology, garage equipment, and other auto components.

Separate sections for 2-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and auto components are allocated, considering visitors to feel comfortable. The expo also has a cafeteria, media desk, and traffic police desk for better management. Help desks are set-up at different places on the expo premises.

List of car brands

Brands like Toyota and Mahindra which weren’t included in last year’s auto show also participate in this year’s expo. New brands like Harley Davidson, JEEP, SWM Motorcycles, RAL (Bangladesh), Peugeot, Miyama Motors, and Tekken Motorcycles are also added to this year’s 4-wheelers collection.

Stalls of Tata, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, SsangYong, JEEP, Subaru, Toyota, Datsun, and MG are installed at the main hall of NADA Auto Show 2018. The outer dome of the exhibition hall featured the stalls of Mahindra Volkswagen, Honda, Peugeot, Hyundai, Suzuki, Kia, and Isuzu.

Jeep Compass

Among all the cars displayed in NADA Auto Show 2018, the most eye-catching car of the event is ‘Jeep Compass’. Jeep Compass is a four-door compact crossover SUV introduced back in 2007. The Jeep Compass is available in three distinct trim levels: the base – Compass Sport, the mid-level – Compass Longitude, and the luxurious – Compass Limited. The Jeep Compass is as capable off-road as it is comfortable on-road.

Toyota Rush

The first class economy SUV from Toyota, Toyota Rush is also showcase at the expo and is one of the highlights of the event. Compared to the second generation of the Rush series, Toyota Rush is based on the Avanza/Xenia platform. The design of the car is more streamlined. It featured a rear lift-gate rather than a side-opening rear door. The best thing about the Toyota Rush is undoubtedly the seven-seater first class economy SUV.

Harley Davidson

Harley-Davidson, Inc. , or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer, founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1903. Harley is one of the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturers and an iconic brand widely known for its loyal following. There are owner clubs and events worldwide as well as a company-sponsored brand-focused museum.

New bikes from Harley Davidson – The SuperLow and the Iron 883 models are also displayed in the expo with a price of NPR. 45 Lakhs. Both of these models have been assembled at a new factory in the northern state of Haryana, India.

TVS Apache RR 310 & Yamaha R15 Version 3

The highlighted bike of the expo are ‘TVS Apache RR 310’ and ‘Yamaha R15 Version 3’.

The TVS Apache RR 310 is a sports bike made by TVS Motor Company in collaboration with BMW Motorrad which was launched back on December 6, 2017, in India. It has a 312.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has been derived from the BMW G 310 R. TVS also claims a top speed of 160kmph and a 0-60kmph time of 2.93 seconds. Weighing at 169.5kg (kerb), the dual-channel ABS-equipped Apache RR 310 gets 300mm petal disc up front and a 240mm petal disc at the rear.

The Yamaha R15 Version 3 is the third iteration of the Yamaha YZF-R15 series. Yamaha YZF-R15 now uses a bigger 155.1 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine that is good for class leading 19.04 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox while slipper clutch has been added to provide an even better track driving experience. It also comes with full LED headlights, higher seat position, new all-digital instrument console and USD (Upside Down) front suspension.

New Biking Gear stalls

New Biking Gear stalls are also installed at the expo. Bike riding gears like jackets, gloves, and boots from ALPHA Riding Gear are showcased. Helmets from one of the best brand in France, SHARK are also showcased at the expo.

NADA Auto Show 2018—a brilliant opportunity to observe automobiles and their companies firmly, is here and will last for six more days.
