NADA Auto Show 2016 starts August 30

It is yet again time for the biggest Automobile expo in the country. The NADA Auto Show 2016 is all set to start on 30 August 2016. The event, organized jointly by Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and Global Exposition and Management Services, will take place at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu. The show will last for six days until 4 September.

Similar to the previous years, the NADA Auto Show 2016 will have automobile companies all set to show-off their new and exciting products extravagantly.

In the press conference on 21 August, the officials of NADA said that the 11th NADA Auto Show aims at promoting the growth of the personal Automotives. Anjan Shrestha, president of NADA, said, “Automobile sector is one of largest sources of revenue for the government. Thousands of people are employed in the sector. The annual event targets to further boost the automobile industry which growing by 35 percent annually.”

Nearly 125 stalls will be occupied by 73 exhibitors showcasing international as well as national products. There will be separate sections for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy commercial vehicles. Brands like Datsun, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, MG, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Suzuki, TATA, Toyota, Volkswagen, Ssangyong will decorate the four-wheeler section. In the heavy commercial section brands like Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Escorts, Mahindra, TATA will display their products. For the 2-wheelers section, brands such as Bajaj, Benelli, Hero, Honda, KTM, Mahindra, Royal Enfield, Runner, Scomadi, Suzuki, TVS, UM, Vespa, Yamaha, etc will be displayed.

Many new models are making their entry into the Nepali automobile market through the NADA Auto Show 2016. We expect models like TVS Apache RTR200 4V, Mojo by Mahindra, Vespa 946 and GTS 300, Aprillia SR 150, Honda NAVI, Hero Electric Scooters and Royal Enfield Himalayan to take up the limelight in the two-wheeler section.

We can also hope for four-wheelers such as the VolksWagen Ameo and VolksWagen Amarok, Suzuki Vitara Brezza,  Renault Kwid and Renault Duster, Tata Tiago, Carnival, Picanto and Soul EV by Kia Motors and the Toyota Innova Crysta to take up a considerable share of interests since the markets for hybrid SUV is growing in Nepal.

Apart from automobile companies, the NADA Auto Show 2016 will also host stalls of financial institutions, spare parts, lubricants, tyres, generators, garage equipment, batteries, and accessories. Automotive products made in Nepal will also be showcased at the exhibition.

The organisers expect to attract a visitor flow of around 50,000 people. NADA is expecting transactions worth of NRs. 2 Billion during the course of the event.

The organising committee explains that this is the only event where the bookings, finance and sales of the latest automobiles on display take place right on the venue. The auto show is a platform for automobile enthusiasts from different areas to come together and share information.
