NADA Auto Show 2016 Ends With a Trade of Over NRs. 3 Billion

The NADA Auto Show 2016, the largest automobile expo of Nepal, was yesterday at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu. The 6-day event was organized jointly by Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and Global Exposition and Management Services.

Nada Auto Show 2016 saw a total of 125 stalls were occupied by 74 exhibitors by both international as well as national companies. There were separate sections for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy commercial vehicles. Brands like Datsun, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, MG, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Suzuki, TATA, Toyota, Volkswagen, Ssangyong will decorate the four-wheeler section. In the heavy commercial section brands like Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Escorts, Mahindra, TATA showcased their products. For the 2-wheelers section, brands such as Bajaj, Benelli, Hero, Honda, KTM, Mahindra, Royal Enfield, Runner, Scomadi, Suzuki, TVS, UM, Vespa, Yamaha, etc. were displayed.

Many new models made their debut into the Nepali automobile market through the NADA Auto Show 2016. TVS Apache RTR200 4V, Mojo by Mahindra, Vespa 946 and GTS 300, Aprillia SR 150, Honda NAVI, Hero Electric Scooters and Royal Enfield Himalayan were the major attractions in the two-wheeler section.

Four-wheelers such as the VolksWagen Ameo and VolksWagen Amarok, Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Renault Kwid and Renault Duster, Tata Tiago, Carnival, Picanto and Soul EV by Kia Motors and the Toyota Innova Crysta took up considerable share of interests since the markets for hybrid SUV is growing in Nepal. Many of them had displayed their products for the first time in the show.

According to Shambhu Prasad Dahal, Vice President and Co-ordinator of NADA said, “The 11th Nada Auto Show concluded on a high note, with bookings exceeding NRs. 3 billion while the 10th installment of the event had recorded Nrs. 1.5 billion. The event exceeded the organizers’ expectation of NRs. 2 billion. The event saw bookings of around 1,500 two-wheelers and 800 four-wheelers. Around 60,000 individuals attended this grand expo, exceeding the expected 50,000 footfalls.”

The organizers also awarded the best stalls of the event. Hitco Pvt. Ltd. won the award for Best Stall (Supporting) and LT Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. bagged the award the Best Stall (Commercial). Likewise, Arun Intercontinental won the Best Stall award among four-wheelers and Hansraj Hulaschand was awarded from two-wheelers.
