Coronavirus (COVID-19): Kathmandu Valley to Face Lockdown once again from Thursday, April 29

The second wave of COVID-19 is on the rise as the nation is witnessing at least 3000+ new cases each day. With the sudden spike of corona cases in Nepal, the Government has once again announced a lockdown in the capital, i.e. Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,966 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,602 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 240 in Lalitpur, and 124 in Bhaktapur.

According to a notice released by the authorities, the lockdown will be imposed in the Kathmandu Valley from Thursday, April 29, midnight for a week. A meeting of the chief district officers held on Monday afternoon took the decision. A decision has been made to close all shops except those selling groceries and medicines and also suspend the movement of private and public vehicles as well.

Our Government has imposed this lockdown to keep everyone safe and somewhat limit the spread of the virus. Therefore, as civilized citizens of the Kathmandu Valley, it is our responsibility to follow the health experts, maintain social distancing, and stay inside.

Looking at the other side of the lockdown, yes, the capital lockdown is definitely going to affect our daily lives. Life had somehow managed to go back to normal and some were just recovering from the last lockdown, and once again facing a similar situation is infuriating and surely tough for everyone. Also, I can understand that we all might not really be compassionate about the second lockdown in the capital. However, we need to keep in mind that the lockdown has been imposed for us and the betterment of our health. Therefore, we need to stay home, follow safety measures, stay updated on the latest news and stay safe.

We once again have to overcome this second wave of pandemic and together (but with social distancing), we can!

Stay Safe everyone, and make this second lockdown productive by doing some fun home activities. Here are some tips:  Fun Indoor Activities to Do in this Quarantine Period
