Nepal HipHop Foundation (NHF) is all set to host Kathmandu B-boy City 2017 this August 26. The championship is actually a qualification round for the upcoming “Taipei B-Boy City World Final 2017”, an international level world championship targeting youths in their teens to thirties that are passionate about B-boying.
Kathmandu B-boy City 2017 is going to be held on August 26 from 12 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Table Tennis Hall, Lainchour in Kathmandu. The championship will see participants from Nepal, Bhutan, and India.
On this round, dance crews and solo break-dancers will be competing and only one solo break dancer will be proceeding towards the semifinal round in Taipei. The winner in Taipei will further proceed to compete for the “Undisputed World B-Boy Series Championship” that will be held in California this year. The contestants will be selected through battles and performances by skilled b-boy dancers from 3 countries—Nepal, Bhutan, and India.
The prelims will feature three categories: Undisputed B-Boy 1 VS 1, Crew Battle (8-10 members), and All Style Battle 1 VS 1. The winner of ‘Undisputed B-Boy 1 VS 1’ will be qualified for ‘Taipei B-Boy City World Final 2017’ and the winners of both ‘All Style Battle’ and ‘Crew Battle’ will be awarded ‘Kathmandu B-Boy City Trophy’ with some cash prizes.
Deepesh Thapa, Founder at Nepal Hip-hop Foundation said, “We, at Nepal hip hop Foundation, believe that everyone can learn and teach, with the capacity to play a positive role and spread their influence as role models to others and lead their own communities bringing positive changes through hip hop and dance.”
The registration process has now begun for all solo/crew b-boys and all styles and the registration deadline is on 20th August 2017. For registration, participants from Kathmandu valley should visit the NHF office located at Thamel, Kathmandu and those who are outside of the Kathmandu Valley can contact the members of NHF via their Facebook page.
