Government to Set up Public Health Offices in all Districts

Government to set up public health offices in all districts. A new structure at local, provincial, and federal levels has been prepared by the Ministry of Health and Population to set up public health offices in all the 77 districts of the nation, Nepal.

The Ministry of Health and Population is a governmental body of Nepal in charge of regulating the health care system and its implementation. The ministries tasks are manifold and include managing the development of the healthcare in Nepal, overseeing population policies, planning, and implementation and overseeing non-governmental associated with health services in Nepal.

The Ministry of Health and Population is currently preparing to appoint the required human resources for the proposed public health offices. “The government had come up with the plan in order to ensure health care services to all people across the country”, stated Dr. Sushil Nath Pyakurel.

He also stated, “The government is also planning to set up Health Promotion and Training Centre, Health Materials and Drug Management Centre, and Public Health Laboratory in all districts.”

Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav had formed a committee, led by Dr. Pyakurel, to make recommendations on hiring staff for the proposed public health offices, support centers, and laboratories.

Dr. Pyakurel stated that the committee has prepared a draft of its recommendation report.
