Bir Hospital Cleanliness Campaign | Tourism Entrepreneurs | Dhurmus Suntali Foundation

Bir Hospital is the oldest and one of the busiest hospitals in Nepal. It was established in July 1889 by Bir Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana. The hospital is run by the National Academy of Medical Sciences, a government agency since 2003. The hospital provides medical and surgical treatments. Cleanliness is the top priority for any hospital. A total number of 42 tourism entrepreneurs have come together to make a donation of a little more than NPR. 800000 (eight lakhs) to the Bir Hospital Cleanliness Campaign.

A sum of NPR. 815230 was collected from the entrepreneurs on the celebration of the 11th Everest Day (29th May). The collected sum was handed over to the president of the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation, who have taken an initiative to organize the cleanliness campaign.

Dhurmus Suntali Foundation has successfully established settlements for the people who lost their shelter to natural disasters like earthquake and flood. Apart from that, the foundation was super-active in their relief activities during 2015 earthquake and last year flood in the Terai.

Sitaram Kattel also known as Dhurmus, president of the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation, said that his team had started cleanliness campaign to keep the oldest hospital in Nepal alive. He also said that a total of NPR. 4.7 million rupees was already invested in the Bir Hospital Cleanliness Campaign so far.
