At RHESC in Gokarneshwor Municipality under the Grassroots Human Security Project launched by the Government of Japan, ophthalmic equipment will be installed. The Japanese embassy said the total grant assistance was approximately NPR. 8.6 million.

The project, installation of ophthalmic equipment, will help install cutting-edge equipment such as an operating microscope, slit lamps, retinoscopes, and phacoemulsification system, among others, which will be used for diagnosis and surgery.

Advanced ophthalmic equipment will provide a wide range of services and people will not have to reach Kathmandu for complex diagnosis processes and surgeries related to eyes.

The Embassy of Japan stated that the project would help enhance and upgrade ophthalmic services at the center and such projects would further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
