Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Officially launched in Nepal

Samsung Nepal launched two of its new smartphones— Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in Kathmandu on Wednesday.  The phones come with a sophisticated design, mature software, advanced display and many more notable improvements.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ launched by Yubeom Won, Country Head, Samsung Nepal (Left) and Pranaya Ratna Sthapit.

The 5.8 inch Galaxy S8 costs NPR 88,900 and comes in two colors: gold and black. And on the other hand, the 6.2 inch Galaxy S8+ costs NPR 98,900 and comes in three colors: gold, black and blue. Pre-booking of the phones have begun and will be available in stores starting May 5.

Every early customer to buy Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be given a launch offer. You will get the Samsung level box speakers, free 8GB data from Ncell for eight months (1 GB each month), and Shikhar Insurance that covers repair costs for half a year.

After suffering a heavy loss of more than $10 billion from the exploding Note 7 fiasco, it’s time for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ to take the market by storm and change the negative perceptions about the company. And for this purpose, Samsung has introduced some revolutionary features in its new phones.

Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, head of HHP division of Samsung Nepal said, “The new phones contain cutting-edge technology and revolutionary features.”

One of the awesome features is its new digital assistant, Bixby. Bixby is expected to have better performance than its peer digital assistants because of its ability to offer personalized navigation and recognition services.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ comes with advanced security measures such as iris scanner, facial recognition, and a fingerprint scanner on the rear. The water and dust resistant phone has a slot for dual SIMs and has an internal memory of 64GB and is expandable up to 256GB using a micro SD card. Both of the phones come with a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP camera on the front. The camera is highlighted for its quick focus, facial recognition, and improved photo quality when shooting under low light conditions. The main highlight of the phone’s design is what Samsung calls “Infinite Display”. The display got its name because of the curved edges of the phone which make the display appear as if it has no bezels on the sides.

Both phones have extended displays that cover 18% more of the screens than previous Galaxy S phones. Samsung has embedded the home button inside the display to save space and make the device more compact. The sets are powered by an industry-first 10nm processor allowing smooth multi-tasking with 20 percent less battery consumption.

These new phones from Samsung have a wide variety of accessories such as the Virtual Reality (VR) set powered by Oculus and the Gear 360 camera, which is able to capture 360-degree videos and viewed using a VR set.

Samsung has also introduced another cool feature called Samsung DeX. When you dock your brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ with a separate dock connected to an external monitor, you can transform your phone into a computer. Instead of seeing apps, you can experience a full-fledged desktop experience. You can view 4k videos, create presentations and do things that you normally do on your laptop.

The newly launched Samsung phones can also be charged wirelessly and support Adaptive Fast Charging.

You can pre-book your Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ online from April 20 to May 2 and be one of the lucky winners to avail the special pre-book offer.

  1. Among the great features, I personally love that Samsung changed its Home button into Soft-button. This is a great initial from Samsung. Good Job
