Ngima Nuru Sherpa – The Youngest Mountaineer to Climb Mount Everest for 21st Time

Ngima Nuru Sherpa has become the youngest mountaineer in the world to successfully ascend the world’s highest mountain for the 21st time.

The 37-year-old mountaineer is from Teso village, located near Namche Bazaar, Solukhumbu. Along with a few other climbers, Ngima Nuru successfully reached the summit point of Mount Everest from Tibet side, according to the expedition organizer.

General Manager of Arun Treks Pvt. Ltd. said, “Born on November 6, 1981, Ngima Nuru stood atop the roof of the world from the North Col at 5:30 A.M. on May 16.”

There are only four climbers including Ngima Nuru to successfully climb Mount Everest more than 20 times, till date. Sherpa said that among the four, Ngima Nuru is the youngest mountaineer and has scaled the Mount Everest for more than 20 times. He said, “However, no other climber below the age of 40 years except Ngima Nuru scaled the mountain for the record 21 times.”

The first time Ngima Nuru climbed Mount Everest was back in the year 2001 from Nepal side. He has made at least nine Everest summits from Nepal side and 12 more from Tibet side. According to Sherpa, Ngima Nuru will be continuing his mountaineering bids on Mount Everest in the coming seasons as well. Sherpa is really inspired by Ngima Nuru and says, “Ngima Nuru is one of the strongest souls working with Arun Treks since 2000.”

According to the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Kami Rita Sherpa (48) holds the world record for most summits on Mt Everest, scaling the world’s highest mountain for the 22nd time from Nepal side on May 16.
