National Industrial Goods and Technology Expo | Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee

National Industrial Goods and Technology Expo is going to be held on 23rd of March 2018. Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee will be organizing the twenty-ninth edition of National Industrial Goods and Technology Expo at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

This is the twenty-ninth edition of National Industries Goods and Technology Expo. The core slogan of the five-day event is, ‘Let’s use home-made products, and move ahead towards prosperity.’  Different kinds of handmade tools such as wool and bamboo products, handmade papers (Nepali kagaj), different kinds of pickles (achaar), Palpali Dhaka, and much more would be displayed in the expo.

In today’s hi-tech and industrialized society, the mere glance of the handmade and eco-friendly products lifts our tired spirits. Especially, obtaining the authentic and local handicraft gives us the pleasure, nowhere to be found. In Nepal, especially in Kathmandu valley, the tradition of craftsmanship is still preserved, thanks to the close-knit Newar (Indo-Burmic in origin believed to be natives of Kathmandu valley) communities who have been practicing it since many centuries. So, there is still the chance to feel the originality and the local-ness in the variety of handicrafts.

Surendra Thapa Magar, acting joint Executive Director of the Committee, mentioned that the expo is going to be organized with an objective of promoting different types of products produced of small industries at the local level. The organization has been organizing such expo every year.

The event, National Industrial Goods and Technology Expo will be organized with the aim of promoting and marketing home-made goods and technology in the domestic market.

The event will start from 23rd of March and end in 27th of March 2018. Make sure to attend and enjoy the expo.
