21st Nepal International Book Fair 2017 Ongoing in Kathmandu

The 21st Nepal International Book Fair 2017 is currently being held at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition hall. The event will last until the 16th of August from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M.

The fair is organized by Global Exposition and Management Services Pvt. Ltd. in cooperation with Federation of Nepal Books and Stationery Business. Observed as a literary gala, the fair features multi aspects of books and publishing through the display, sale and other informative programs, as per a media release. The fair also expects to promote interactions between the customers and the book retailers and host meetings of intellectuals.

The 21st Nepal International Book Fair 2017 boasts a total of 118 book stalls. Among them, 20 stalls have been set up by international publishers. According to the organizers of the fair, the main purpose of the event is to bring the national and international publishers, bookstores and distributors together in order to encourage the reading culture and to promote the growth of the publishing sector in Nepal.

The fair is also a platform for booksellers to develop their networks and to work together with other businesses operating in the same sector and help the publishing sector grow as a whole.

Being held every year for 20 years now, the fair has seen an increased participation by the publishers and readers with every new edition.

One of Nepal’s flagship literary cultural events, the fair will treat book lovers with thousands of titles by hundreds of writers. In addition, the fair also adjoins activities such as book signing, book release, authors program, literacy and learning activities for children and much more.

So, if you’re also a bookworm, this is a must-go event for you. The 21st Nepal International Book Fair is an open program and everyone is welcome. The entry to the exhibition is completely free.
