Blind Cricket World Cup—Nepal Beats Australia | Consolation Match

Nepal beats Australia by 8 wickets in a consolation match held in the Blind Cricket World Cup at the MCC Cricket Ground in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. The consolation match was held on 15th January 2018.

2018 Blind Cricket World Cup is the 5th edition of the Blind Cricket World Cup tournament is currently held from 8th January 2018 to 21st January 2018 in Pakistan and in the United Arab Emirates.  6 teams including hosts Pakistan, defending champions IndiaSri LankaBangladeshAustralia, and Nepal are qualified to play in the tournament. Nepal made its first-ever appearance to play in the 40 overs Blind Cricket World Cup tournament. India is the defending champions.

Rajan Shah, cricket journalist and creative director of Dhangadhi Premier League, informed: “the Nepali team has already been knocked out of the championship after getting defeated in three consecutive matches with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India.”

Nepal made its first-ever appearance in the 40 overs Blind Cricket World Cup Tournament, had previously lost to Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.

Nepal beats Australia with four overs to spare while chasing the target of 299 runs. Australia elected to bat first after winning the toss and put up a score of 298 runs in 40 overs.

The fifth Blind Cricket World Cup is currently being held in Pakistan. Six teams including host country Pakistan along with India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia, and Nepal qualified to participate in the tournament.

With Nepal and Australia in the bottom of the table, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have entered the semifinals.
